Oscar Suarez guides his clients through the mercurial world of commercial litigation with an emphasis on clear two-way communication and reasoned joint decision making. Years of experience representing both local and national banks and lenders in state and federal court have provided Oscar with insight into the issues his clients face. He represents financial institutions involved in foreclosures and loan recovery, lender liability claims, landlord-tenant issues, and loan restructuring. Oscar also represents clients in all facets of title disputes including priority claims, reformation of mortgages, and quiet title actions.
Oscar’s abilities extend beyond the courtroom. He is routinely called upon to provide pre-litigation strategies to financial institutions and advise them on unfair trade practices, truth-in-lending issues, CFPB regulations, and fair debt collection matters.
In addition to commercial litigation, Oscar practices in the area of insurance defense, zealously representing insureds in automobile, general liability, and premises liability claims.
Oscar is a James W. Cooper Life Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. Life Fellows are exemplary lawyers recognized for the high quality of their work, their service to their community and the public, and their efforts to improve the legal system. He is a member of the Oliver Ellsworth Inns of Court, a nationwide organization that works to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal skills. Oscar was also named to the Hartford Business Journal‘s 2019 “40 Under 40” list for his leadership, professional accomplishments, and community involvement.
