Richard Roberts Speaks at CBA Planning and Zoning Seminar

Richard Roberts of the Real Estate Practice Group was recently a speaker at the Connecticut Bar Association’s Planning and Zoning seminar, “Connecticut Land Use Law for Municipal Land Use Agencies, Boards and Commissions.”  Mr. Roberts’ talk entitled “Conflict of Interest and Predisposition,” focused on conflicts of interest, the relevant statutory provisions and case law, and the procedural problems a commission faces when a question of conflict arises.  Additionally, he discussed the issues of predisposition and bias in the context of land use applications and the consideration of ex parte communications.

The seminar focused on topics of concern to municipal land use agencies, boards, commissions and their staffs.  The seminar also provided a broad review of the municipal land use process including zoning, planning, zoning board of appeals, and wetland issues.  This seminar has been sponsored every two years by the Connecticut Bar Association Planning and Zoning Section.
