The Connecticut Association of Zoning Enforcement Officials (CAZEO) sponsored a presentation by Richard Roberts titled “What is a farm and What is Agriculture under Connecticut law?” Richard covered legal aspects and terminology surrounding farming and agriculture, examples of Connecticut zoning definitions by town and the Right-to-Farm Statute and Ordinances. He also discussed recent cases and examples of farming as it pertains to community events and dining experiences directly connected to farming.
CAZEO is a membership organization that strives to provide a forum for the exchange of information regarding zoning and enforcement, a platform to collaboratively solve municipal zoning problems and to encourage and uphold acceptable performance standards by its members. Of Connecticut’s 169 municipalities, CAZEO presently has members in 109 of these municipalities.
