Ken Slater and Rich Roberts presented at Connecticut’s Council of Small Towns (COST) Annual Fall Conference last week. They discussed “New & Emerging Issues” regarding Housing & Land Use that have arisen this past year. Some of the topics included were affordable housing and legislation changes that affect CT municipalities.
UConn’s Center for Land Use Education and Research (CLEAR) Land Use Academy (LUA) held an advanced training this past weekend where topics of “Bias, Predisposition, and Conflicts” were presented by Rich Roberts. Ken Slater provided information on “Running a Meeting and Making a Decision” while Mark Branse held a session on “Fair and Affordable Housing Policies”.
Attendees also had the chance to acquire their own copy of Mike Zizka’s book “What’s Legally Required: A Guide to Legal Rules for Making Land Use Decisions in the State of Connecticut”. The training fulfilled required credits for CT members of planning, zoning or combined planning and zoning commissions and zoning boards of appeals.
