Attorneys Duncan Forsyth and Michael Satti, with the assistance of law clerk Sarah Annabi, received a positive decision in favor of their municipal client regarding a case of animal abuse and neglect. Our client, Coventry’s Animal Control Officer, petitioned the court to receive custody of numerous animals that were being cruelly treated by the two defendants. Over 170 animals were found to be deceased or received improper care with many suffering from lack of food, water, and healthcare. The decision was made for all but one of the animals to be permanently vested in the care of the plaintiff and per section 22-329a(h) of the General Statutes, the court ordered the defendants to pay the veterinary expenses incurred while the animals are in the plaintiff’s care.
