For decades, Halloran Sage’s automobile litigation team has demonstrated its strength and thoroughness at every stage of the litigation process—including preliminary factual investigation. Recently, Attorney Mary Vlamis and Paralegal Roselyn Vazquez secured a summary judgment on behalf of an insured client of a national insurance carrier in a case alleging negligence and recklessness.
The plaintiff claimed that the insured operated a vehicle in a manner that forced them off the road. However, through meticulous questioning, trust building, and effective use of the team’s bilingual capabilities, the defense team was able to communicate directly with their Spanish-speaking client and uncover critical factual inaccuracies in the plaintiff’s pleadings, allowing them to file a Motion for Summary Judgment.
When the plaintiff filed an untimely objection, Attorney Vlamis was able to discredit the supporting evidence in the objection through information gathered from the client regarding the correct identity and role of the police officer involved in the traffic stop and the language(s) spoken by each officer at the scene. These factors, among others, were cited in the court’s decision granting summary judgment in favor of Halloran Sage’s client.
