Duncan Forsyth, a partner in the Firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group and Vice Chairman of the Board of Managers for the YMCA Camp Woodstock was recently spotlighted at the Greater Hartford YMCA Annual Strong Kids Campaign Celebration Dinner. At the function Duncan acknowledged two local youths for their leadership and growth as they participated in the YMCA Camp Woodstock Strong Kids Annual Campaign program.
Particularly interesting was one of the youth’s who became involved in the YMCA program after benefiting from the Firm’s annual charitable holiday drive this past winter. Duncan recognized the teenager’s challenging personal situation and drive, and was optomistic that YMCA’s Strong Kids programs could be beneficial. He initiated a YMCA membership and the organization identified the youth as a candidate for future scholarship programs and aid.
“The Strong Kids Annual Campaign is the foundation on which the YMCA of Greater Hartford accomplishes its mission of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities. The Strong Kids Annual Campaign strengthens the organization’s ability to provide values-based programs and activities to over 109,000 people in the Greater Hartford region, regardless of their ability to pay.
Funds raised by Camp Woodstock volunteers will be used to help make summer camp possible for families who otherwise could not attend, and to provide urban youth leadership retreats throughout the year.
