Attorney Michael Wrona will present, “Remote hearings and executive orders in the COVID-19 era: Another new normal?” at the Annual Convention of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment (Conn NAHRO) on August 24th.
The session will explore how the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a tremendous impact on housing court proceedings and the commencement of summary process actions. As it is unknown when remote hearings and trials will be replaced with the more traditional in-person court attendance, Mike will provide guidance and an explanation of the court rules put in place concerning remote trials and best practices when conducting a remote hearing. He will also facilitate a discussion of the evolution of the relevant executive orders and moratoria and the status of those directives.
Mike practices in the areas of landlord-tenant, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. For the last thirteen years, he has represented housing authorities in a wide variety of matters ranging from tenant evictions to forming related 501©(3) entities to providing legal counsel in navigating federal and state regulations.
CONN-NAHRO offers a forum for public housing professionals who are dedicated to providing safe, decent and affordable housing for all Connecticut citizens, particularly those with very low, low and moderate incomes.
