Mark Branse is a featured speaker at the Connecticut Association of Conservation and Inland Wetlands Commissions (CACIWC) Annual Meeting & Environmental Conference in Cromwell on November 23rd.
Mark will join Janet Brooks to provide the annual Wetlands Law & Regulations Update with Question & Answer Session, and keep workshop attendees current on recent legislative and proposed regulatory changes, as well as provide a review of state Supreme Court and Appellate Court cases from the past decade.
Mark will also present on Working with other Agencies to Protect the Water Systems of CT with Amanda Ryan from UConn Clear. They’ll discuss the various federal, state and local agencies that can become involved in local efforts to protect lakes, watercourses, wetlands and other water systems. Mark will review the function of these agencies and discuss the ability of local commissions to work more effectively with their agency colleagues. Amanda will review municipal stormwater regulations and provide practice examples of how municipalities can meet these requirements.
The Conference includes four workshop tracks with topics on preserving forests and their inhabitants, preserving wetlands and watercourses, preserving water bodies and aquatic systems, and preserving and sustaining habitats. Informative displays, open discussions and networking opportunities among members and attendees are other features of the Conference.
