Attorney Kevin Green presented,“Employee Handbook & Policies: Time for an Update?” at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) 2019 Employment Law Conference. He addressed top reasons to have an updated employee handbook, key policies to have, and language to avoid, among other topics.
The Conference delivered an in-depth overview of some of the most challenging employment law issues impacting organizations, human resource personnel, and management over the coming years. Event topics provided insights needed to succeed in addressing these challenges, including Connecticut’s new FMLA law.
The CBIA is Connecticut’s largest business organization, with thousands of member companies, small and large, representing a diverse range of industries from every part of the state. The CBIA is working to make CT a top state for business, jobs, and economic growth: driving change, shaping legislative and regulatory policy, and promoting collaboration between the private and public sectors.
Kevin Green is Chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group at Halloran Sage. He has almost 25 years of experience representing and counseling employers in all manner of employment issues, including wage/hour, discrimination, reasonable accommodation and ADA compliance, FMLA and leave of absence, discipline, and the implementation of policies to comply with Connecticut and federal law.
He is often asked to analyze legal risks associated with hiring, discipline, and termination of employees in order to counsel clients with these employment decisions. In addition to counseling employers, Kevin is a trained and experienced litigator who has tried many cases to verdict and protects his clients’ interests when litigation becomes necessary.
