Kenneth Slater Jr. was faculty member at a full-day seminar “Connecticut Land Law for Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors.” The program studied land use law, examined Connecticut subdivision law, reviewed eminent domain and condemnation law, explored water rights and restrictions and environmental regulations impacting land development and construction.
Kennth will facilitate the course on ‘Environmental Regulations Impacting Land Development and Construction’.
Specific objectives of the course included:
accomodating natural resource protection laws (including wetlands, critical areas, flood plains, endangered species etc…);
accomodating existing site contamination in design and construction (including soil and groundwater contaminants, asbestos or lead in existing structures);
managing materials generated by construction (including excavated soils);
and the use of virgin or recycled materials for fill.
