Partner James Perito facilitated a conversation with Governor Lamont during the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce’s Monthly Government Affairs Committee Meeting yesterday morning. Following the Committee’s updates on recent legislative initiatives and proposals, the Governor joined the meeting at about 25:40 to discuss the vaccine rollout and other issues of concern to the business community. The topics the Governor addressed included the state of the economy and pent-up demand, workforce training programs, investments in the transportation sector, the Unemployment Fund, a public option for health insurance, the biopharma industry in the state, and funding for nonprofits.
Over 80 participants joined the call.
The Government Affairs Committee leads the Chamber’s work in promoting the regional legislative agenda. It opposes legislation that is unfriendly to business and keeps members informed about issues at the Capitol.
