In 2011, the law firm of Halloran Sage opened an office in downtown New Haven with attorneys Robert Cox, Brian Enright, James Maher, and James Perito. Over the years, these attorneys were joined by others, outgrowing their original space and relocating to a larger office at 265 Church Street, where today they celebrate their 10-year anniversary with 23 employees—15 attorneys and 8 staff.
Over ten years of impact in Greater New Haven, Halloran Sage has provided services such as litigation and dispute resolution, corporate business & transactions, succession planning, commercial real estate, land use, and planning and zoning to a broad range of clients. Hotels, banks, private lenders, the City of New Haven and surrounding municipalities, real estate developers, land trusts, small and family-owned businesses, health care and insurance companies, all trust the firm to represent them and to help them plan for promising futures in New Haven. The firm has been present for hard conversations and difficult situations; has counseled companies through complex decisions and transactions; and has worked with developers, hotel owners, businesses, and City Commissioners to promote the growth and vibrancy of New Haven’s Downtown.
In ten years, Halloran Sage has also developed meaningful relationships with community and nonprofit organizations. Through a long-standing partnership with the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center (CVLC), the firm’s attorneys have assisted veterans facing legal issues, especially those facing homelessness. Halloran Sage has accepted 100% of referred cases from the CVLC (conflicts excepted) and was recognized by the nonprofit for our eviction defense work. New Haven Halloran Sage attorneys have also provided pro bono services for a nonprofit regional center for visual arts based in New Haven; volunteered with Habitat for Humanity; served as a Grand Marshal and as an active, long-time committee member for the New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Ball; participated in and sponsored annual New Haven events like the Road Race; and supported other community organizations including the United Way of Greater New Haven, the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, and Walter Camp Football Foundation.
Halloran Sage is a member of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, and its New Haven attorneys are active participants in the programs the Chamber offers. Two attorneys are on the Board of Directors for the Chamber. One attorney is the current Chair of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee, and in that role over the past 7 years, has worked to ensure that business concerns are heard by elected officials. Halloran Sage attorneys have moderated COVID-19 webinars, annual Regional Legislative Breakfasts, and other candidate forums; sponsored and attended Chamber luncheons, golf classics, morning mingles, and annual meetings; and have been active and involved members of the regional business community. In addition to the Chamber, the firm’s New Haven attorneys have developed relationships with other business and professional organizations such as the New Haven County Bar Association, ManufactureCT, AMR Foundation for Research & Education, and the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA).
The firm is fully invested in New Haven and its businesses. It is a privilege to be a part of this vibrant and diverse community, and to contribute to the growth and success of the Elm City. Halloran Sage thanks our clients, our business partners, and the civic and non-profit organizations who have trusted in us over the last 10 years. We continue to look forward to renewing our commitment to you.
