The Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department traces their heritage to the late 1700’s and was chartered by the Connecticut legislature on May 12, 1803 and will host the Connecticut State Firefighter’s Convention and commemorative parade to be held during the year-long Bicentennial Celebration.

The Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department presently services the Town of Wethersfield, Connecticut with a population of 26,000 residents from 3 firehouses with 9 major pieces of firefighting equipment and more than 800 active firefighters.
