Labor and employment lawyer Kevin Greene presented at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA)’s 2022 Human Resources Conference on March 17th. In his presentation, “Employee Handbooks: From Basic Necessities to Crucial Updates,” Kevin reviewed the purpose of the employee handbook, which policies are must-haves, which need legal updates, and which should be tailored to a company’s make-up and mission. He provided a checklist of crucial policies to include in a handbook as well as three sample policies, including policies on drugs and alcohol and anti-harassment.
The conference, held in Trumbull, CT, provides an in-depth look at the most challenging workplace issues that impact management and HR personnel, including the top five wage and hour mistakes, pitfalls in the hiring process, and how to put paid and unpaid leave policies into action.
The CBIA is a membership-based nonprofit organization that represents the interests of Connecticut member businesses in a range of industries.
