Halloran & Sage has once again provided funding to enhance and improve the grandeur of Bushnell Park. The firm made a top-tier donation to Leadership Greater Hartford to sponsor new game-top picnic tables and matching benches along a pedestrian walkway in the 37-acre park. The tables and benches, made of cast iron, concrete, terrazzo and brass, provide visitors with a comfortable setting to have lunch and enjoy impromptu games of checkers or chess. Matthew Necci, chair of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group and a dedicated member of Leadership Greater Hartford, led fundraising efforts to purchase the five tables. Thanks to Matthew’s volunteer work and the support from Halloran & Sage and others, the tables were donated to the Bushnell Park Foundation. Matthew said he was pleased to be part of the Firm’s efforts to improve the beauty of the park. “Hartford is unique. It has a lot of benefits of a big city, with also a small town mentality. We can make a concrete difference that can be seen here.” Managing Partner Bill McGrath said Bushnell Park is a special place in the community. “We’ve been involved in several efforts to keep the Park attractive and inviting for visitors,” he said. “We are proud to be able to donate the funds to support this improvement.” Photo: Marvin Bowe
