Constance Baker Motley
The firm recently held a commemoration for Martin Luther King, Jr. & Black History Month with a Lunch & Learn about Constance Baker Motley. Born in New Haven, CT, Constance was a lawyer that went on to become a politician and the first African American woman appointed to the federal judiciary. Among many achievements, she played a major role in the civil rights movement, was the first Black woman to argue a case in front of the Supreme Court, and was the first Black woman elected to the NY state Senate.
Attendees discussed Constance and the incredible milestones she reached in her lifetime, including the many ways she was a pioneer of the civil rights movement.
Lunch was provided at each of our offices from local Black owned restaurants & caterers.
