Claudia Heyman Speaks at ALFA International Women’s Initiative Seminar

Claudia Heyman presented at the ALFA International Women’s Initiative Practice Group Regional CLE Seminar on “Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Social Media and More,” also attended by Halloran Sage attorney Alyssa Lynch.

Claudia and her co-presenters discussed the uses and limitations of social media in litigation. They considered how deep fakes and the constantly evolving world of Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook present unique challenges to litigants and the Court as well as ethical issues for counsel.

Claudia Heyman has represented self-insured employers, insurance companies, and third party administrators for over 25 years in all aspects of the workers’ compensation process, including informal, pre-formal and formal hearings, and has successfully handled appeals before the Workers’ Compensation Review Board and the Connecticut Supreme Court. She also represents employers in civil court matters to protect their subrogation rights in third party actions.

Founded in 1980, ALFA International was the first and continues to be one of the largest and strongest legal networks. They have 150 member firms around the world. Their mission is to provide high quality, cost-efficient legal services wherever their clients need them. To be part of the ALFA International network, member firms meet high standards and are well respected by their peers in the legal and business community.

The Women’s Initiative Practice Group (WIPG) serves as the central forum for the ALFA women attorneys to network and share best practices concerning all aspects of the practice and management of law. The group is open to all women attorneys in ALFA International law firms, and includes lawyers at all stages of their careers.
