Celebrating Black History Month 2025

In honor of February’s Black History Month, the annual Call Their Names event was held at Hartford’s Legislative Office Building yesterday.

Congratulations to Hon. Angela Robinson (Ret.) for her recognition as one of the leaders in the business, education, and human services’ sectors.

A pioneer in jurisprudence, she was appointed to the Superior Court at the age of 33, becoming the youngest Superior Court Judge in Connecticut history. She currently serves as Counsel at Halloran Sage, Professor at Quinnipiac Law School, member on the Boards of the Greater New Haven Arts Council and the New Haven Legal Assistance Association, and has been recognized for her leadership and diversity work throughout her career.

The event was a great turnout recognizing 15 honorees and celebrating the accomplishments of African American pioneers throughout history and Connecticut. Food, drinks, and entertainment were provided with live band Tony Harrington and Touch and incredible performances by Sankofa Kuumba Cultural Arts Consortium and Jumoke Academy Honors Hartford Conservatory.
