The Hospital for Special Care (HSC) recently announced that Carl Ficks, Jr. was appointed Chairman of its Board of Directors. Carl was officially named Chairman at the Hospital’s 14th Annual Meeting of Corporators and Donor Appreciation Reception.
As Chairman, Carl will preside at all meetings of the board and is responsible for the overall governance and management of affairs at the Hospital. Carl also will ensure that HSC continues to stay true to its mission by anticipating and being responsive to the changing needs of its communities and a changing healthcare environment by creating an innovative, fiscally-sound, cost-effective system of care.
“In addition to his business savvy, Carl has a strong sense of community and fully understands the Hospital for Special Care’s mission,” said David Crandall, president and CEO at the Hospital for Special Care. “We are pleased to have such an experienced chair lead our board as we continue to execute our highly-focused and successful strategic plan.”
Over the years, Carl has been extremely active within the New Britain community. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the New Britain Boys & Girls Club and the New Britain-Berlin Rotary Club, and has served as a fundraiser for many local organizations.
