Susan Perrin Geenty is a skilled family practitioner who has practiced in the field of family law for the majority of her legal career. Susan regularly represents parties in divorce and custody matters where she draws on her substantial experience in real estate, complex financial matters, and general civil litigation to successfully advocate for her clients. Prior to 2025, Susan practiced as a partner with the law firm of Farrell, Geenty, Sheeley & Boccalatte, PC in Middletown, CT for 40 years.
Susan’s background, knowledge and attention to detail have served her clients well as they address the many issues in dissolution actions including child custody, child support, alimony and the division of real estate, family businesses, and retirement interests.
In addition to her experience as a litigator, Susan is also a member and trained practitioner in the Connecticut Collaborative Divorce Group, a practice group which includes experienced practitioners from legal, financial and mental health disciplines. Susan supports the collaborative approach to divorce, the objective of collaboration being to provide a couple with a structured, non-adversarial process within which they can resolve parenting, financial and property issues utilizing the legal and financial professionals available. Susan regularly acts as counsel, working with her clients to design constructive solutions.
As a trained mediator, Susan is a member and a past board member of The Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce, an organization designed to help an individual and their spouses to explore options and develop a resolution to divorce issues tailored to their needs without court involvement.
Susan is a member of the Middlesex, Hartford Family Bar, the Connecticut Bar Associations, and a past member of the Board of Directors for the Middlesex County Bar Association.
