Michael represents businesses, banks, developers, contractors, and employers in Massachusetts and Connecticut disputes. He handles conflicts that disrupt operations, strain relationships, and threaten money: broken contracts, unpaid invoices, commercial lease defaults, construction-payment fights, partnership disputes, unfair competition, restrictive covenants, and business torts.
His work for businesses extends to the workplace. Michael defends employers against discrimination, retaliation, wage-and-hour, and other workplace claims before state and federal courts, arbitrators, and administrative agencies.
That litigation experience gives his advice a practical edge. Michael helps employers evaluate discipline, terminations, internal investigations, accommodation requests, wage issues, and policy concerns before a decision creates risk. He also helps business clients respond when contracts fray, commercial tenants default, partners clash, invoices go unpaid, or competitors cross legal lines.
Michael brings more than legal training to those problems. Before law school, he served as Vice President of an international corporation. That role gave him a practical view of commercial disputes. Litigation affects budgets, employees, customers, operations, and reputation. Michael uses that background to test facts early, measure risk clearly, and move each matter toward a business-minded result.
That combined legal and business perspective serves clients across several industries. Clients in healthcare, manufacturing, retail, real estate, construction, financial services, and technology rely on Michael for clear judgment and direct advice. He builds each case around the client’s goals, the evidence, the cost, and the likely result. When negotiation protects the client, he negotiates. When trial serves the client, he prepares to try the case.
Beyond his practice, Michael remains rooted in Western Massachusetts. He grew up in the region and remains active in the community. He serves as a lector and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield, volunteers with the Knights of Columbus, and hosts athletic events supporting Special Olympics.
Michael approaches disputes with the same focus clients bring to their businesses: protect the company, control risk, and reach the right result.
