"Family law is deeply personal, but it requires clear strategy. My mission is to guide clients with candor, compassion, and preparation so they can make decisions from a place of strength rather than fear."

Alexandra C. “Alix” Ritter focuses her practice on family law matters, including divorce, custody, mediation, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and post-judgment proceedings. She has particular experience handling complex asset division, custody disputes, and high-conflict litigation as well as cases related to the Connecticut Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA). Alix has a broad litigation background and has handled both civil and family law matters in all Connecticut courts including the Connecticut Appellate Court.

Actively involved in the legal community, Alix is a member of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations and previously served on the Executive Committee of the Litchfield County Bar Association. She also serves as a Family Law Special Master in the Hartford, New Britain, and Danbury courts. In recognition of her professional accomplishments, she was named to the New England Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2023.

Alix earned her Bachelor of Arts, with a double major in Psychology and Sociology and an emphasis in Forensic Psychology, from the University of Kansas. She received her Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law, where she was a legal intern with the Washburn Law Clinic and a member of the International Legal Society. She later obtained an LL.M. in International Commercial Law and Mediation from the University of Westminster in London.

Prior to returning to the United States, Alix lived in London for six years, where she obtained mediation accreditation from the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR). She worked with CEDR coordinating training programs and supporting mediation and dispute resolution services across a range of matters, including landlord-tenant, personal injury, Met Police, and corporate disputes. She also served as a Client Relationship Executive in the Dispute Resolution Department at Bird & Bird, managing legal matters for clients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
