Our client, a Westbrook beach association established by a special act of the legislature, successfully defended a suit before the Middletown Superior Court in which an owner of adjoining property claimed title to a portion of the beach that had substantially expanded in size as result of accretion caused after a jetty had been constructed. As a result of decision, the beach association will continue to maintain and manage the beach on behalf of its members. Kenneth Slater handled the matter.
