John Murphy represents financial institutions, businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals in corporate and business transactions, commercial finance, and real estate matters.
John’s commercial finance practice focuses on the representation of banks and other commercial lenders in the negotiation and documentation of commercial loan transactions, including asset-based loans, commercial mortgage and construction loans, lease and time share financing and loans supported by state and federal loan guaranty programs. His experience also includes loan participations, bulk loan sale and purchase transactions, workouts and restructuring transactions, and OREO sales and management issues.

John represents investors and developers in the acquisition, sale, financing, and development of commercial, industrial, medical office and ambulatory surgery centers, and multi-family housing projects, including obtaining permits and zoning approvals and negotiating and documenting purchase and sale and lease transactions.
John is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and has served on the Suffield Zoning and Planning Commission, the Suffield Board of Education, and other civic and charitable organizations.
