Halloran & Sage has represented a major hospital with all aspects of investigating, reporting and remediating a breach involving more than 500 people due to a phishing scheme. The representation and advice included the investigation and reporting of the breach to the Office of Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office, revising policies in light of the breach, negotiating with a business associate, reviewing the notices delivered to the affected individuals, in short, every aspect of the breach.
