Morris Borea is an accomplished trial lawyer who represents individuals, towns, and corporations as plaintiffs or defendants in the State or Federal Courts in Connecticut. In his over three decades of experience, Morris has tried twenty-five civil jury cases to verdict and has tried over fifty bench trials. The matters he has prosecuted or defended have included:

In addition to being a trial lawyer, Morris is also a member of the Health Care Cost Containment Practice Group, which represents health care insurers and self payers in confidential negotiations with their provider networks. The Health Care Cost Containment Practice Group team includes not only lawyers and paralegals, but a Data Scientist, so that they can perform complex regression analysis to identify potential cost savings.
Morris is a well-known municipal lawyer who has been representing cities and towns in central Connecticut for over twenty years. He has handled hundreds of tax appeals and has tried six tax appeals to judgment. As the Rocky Hill Town Attorney, he was lead counsel in the landmark Rocky Hill v. SecureCare Realty case. Though the Town lost in the trial court, the Supreme Court’s complete reversal of the trial court’s decision in the SecureCare case is typical of Morris’ belief that if he cannot find a way, he will make a way to successfully represent his clients.

Morris believes in public service, and from 2012 to March of 2020, he served as Pro Bono General Counsel to Live-Kind, Inc., a non-profit corporation that provided anti-bullying programs and community/police relations programs to inner city schools and police departments. He was Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals in Wethersfield for over ten years and served the ZBA as Vice-Chair, Secretary and as a Member for a total of 23 years. In July of 2017, he was elected to a one-year term as General Counsel of UNICO National, an Italian-American service organization with over five thousand members in twenty-two states that raises money for charity. In 2019, Morris was elected to a three-year term as a Trustee of the UNICO National Foundation. He is a member of the Mental Health Committee, which awards annual grants to non-profit organizations working in the field of mental health, including autism. Morris is also a past District Governor for Connecticut and a two-time past President of the Wethersfield Chapter of UNICO.
Since 1996, Morris has been a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association’s Continuing Legal Education Committee. He stays current on the law and the latest trends, lectures frequently and supports the advancement of the trial lawyer community.
