"I strive to assist clients to create effective practical solutions where possible, provide trusted legal advice where essential, and implement litigation strategy when needed."

Michael Wrona practices in the areas of landlord-tenant, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. Mike’s experience and common sense approach allow him to resolve disputes for his clients, which include housing authorities, private landlords, lenders, creditors, and insurance companies. While his first instinct is to always look for a straightforward practical solution, he stands ready to recommend an effective litigation strategy when needed.

For the last twelve years, Mike has represented housing authorities in a wide variety of matters ranging from tenant evictions to forming related 501©(3) entities to providing legal counsel in navigating federal and state regulations. His experience in this area is aided greatly by having served on his town’s housing authority for the past eight years, giving him the perspective of both counselor and commissioner, and deep insight into the day-to-day issues facing housing authorities. Mike also handles landlord/tenant law matters for private commercial and residential landlords. As a result, he regularly appears in the Housing Courts on commercial eviction and landlord collection matters. In the past several years, he has written and lectured on summary process, and how it affects both housing authorities and private landlords.

Mike also provides insight and trusted counsel to lenders and other creditors in bankruptcy, and assists clients in recovering payment under the unique structure of the federal bankruptcy courts. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in plan analysis, negotiation, objection litigation, valuation, secured status determination and other aspects of plan confirmation in both Chapter 11 and Chapter 13, and provides representation in adversary proceedings of all kinds. Through all of these, Mike works closely with his client to ensure the best possible result in the most effective and efficient manner possible.

Mike also demonstrates his experience and commitment in meeting the commercial litigation needs of his clients. He has handled a variety of actions concerning debt collection (including the fair debt collection practices act), foreclosures, replevin actions, prejudgment remedies, and actions pursuant to the Connecticut Prejudgment Remedy Statute. In every instance, Mike works in the client’s best interests by focusing on meaningful negotiation as warranted, and providing aggressive litigation when needed.

A long standing board member of the Wethersfield Housing Authority since 2008, Mike currently holds the position of Chair for the group.
