Peter Meggers is a member of the Firm's Litigation and Insurance Practice Groups. He routinely represents businesses and individuals in a wide variety of matters including contract disputes, premises liability and personal injury. Peter also represents insurers with regard to first-party and third-party coverage disputes. In addition, Peter has vast experience in subrogation litigation.
Peter also frequently represents lenders in contested foreclosures and defends against fraud, tort and unfair trade practices claims. Over the past year, Peter has spoken at several seminars on the evolving topic of lender liability in Connecticut.
While in law school, Peter was a Summer Associate at Halloran & Sage. He was recognized in law school as a finalist in his school's oral advocacy competition and was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Income Tax which is awarded to the top student in Income Tax. Peter also attended business school and obtained an MBA. at Western New England University while pursuing his JD. Peter He also worked for a personal injury firm in Massachusetts.
At Gettysburg College, Peter was a four-year varsity football player where he played tight end and led the Bullets to an appearance in the 2007 ECAC Southwest Bowl. After finishing his playing career and graduating cum laude, he was inducted into the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society based on academic achievement. Peter attended the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT for high school. Today, Peter lives in Manchester, CT, and remains active in his local community.
